At Portland Relationship Center, LLC we offer:

  • Individual sessions for children, adolescents and adults
  • Weekly group therapy
  • Imago® Relationship Counseling
  • Workshops and monthly low-cost presentations
  • Biofeedback as part of ongoing counseling

In our individual sessions we strive to meet your specific needs. We are qualified to work both with issues that have lingered since childhood, such as sexual abuse or neglect and current time issues such as depression, anxiety, grief and loss, and low self-esteem.

Some of our therapists offer Cognitive Therapy to help you discover, label and replace the automatic negative thoughts that create and maintain unhappy moods. Untreated these negative thoughts cause depression, anxiety and low self-esteem. In addition to learning a method to correct the negative thinking our goal is to help you set about structuring a life that brings you authentic happiness. By helping you explore your strengths and longings, and challenging you to over come your thinking obstacles, we provide tools for life-long fulfillment.

We are trained in trauma psychology, which is the understanding and treatment of any type of trauma or abuse. We use modalities such as “revisiting the trauma” through disclosure, journaling, art or psycho-drama in order to help you better integrate and emotionally resolve the experience. We combine revisiting the trauma with Cognitive Therapy to assist you in discovering and reframing the negative core beliefs that remain long after the trauma has ended.

Conveniently located in southeast Portland at 3310 SE Division St., Innovations in Counseling is on the Tri-Met bus line. At this time we are in the process of making our building wheelchair accessible.

Licensed Clinical Social Workers receive much the same mental health training as other licensed counselors, with a special focus on the needs of groups and communities. We are trained to value and to understand the individual in the context of their gender, their age, their family, their culture, their socio-economic class, their ethnicity and race, their religion and their sexual orientation.

We offer extensive services to adolescents and adults and when other resources are needed we provide referrals for such services as:

  • Medication Evaluation
  • Residential Drug and Alcohol Treatment
  • Educational Testing and Resources
  • Mediation Services
  • Community Resources
  • ADD Coaching
